Editor’s Pick: Reebok Nano 4.0

This summer Reebok introduced the new CrossFit Nano 4.0 and the newly updated cross-training shoe has been winning praise from athletes across the country… even those that aren’t into the whole CrossFit craze.

This fall has been a time for me to get back into the swing of things and (more importantly) back to a more structured fitness routine. I’m weeks away from running my first half-marathon, so it’s safe to say that I’ve been on a constant hunt for a new pair of running shoes that will be able to take me from my training runs to the gym. Thankfully Reebok’s redesigned kicks are ideal for any workout in or out of the gym.

At first glance, the Nano 4.0s are slick. A definite plus. But, there is substance behind the eye-catching, futuristic design of the cross-training shoe. For example: that cool duracage (the protective, spider-like cage that wraps around the front of the shoe) actually provides extra support. Another bonus? The duracage is paired with a breathable mesh that helps your feet feel fresh while offering some unexpected flexibility. The pairing also ensures that the 4.0s are one of the lightest training shoes you’ll slip on this season. And, lighter training shoes are always a good thing.

Other highlights worthy of mention? The shoe’s flat rigid sole is grippier and offers stability, while the foam cushioning provides support that any runner (short or long distance) will appreciate.

One recommendation before you run out and snag a pair for yourself: Reebok’s Nano 4.0s are snug. Consider bumping up a half-size to give your feet a little extra room.
