When you think of Montblanc, chances are stylish fountain pens come to mind. And why wouldn’t they, the German manufacturer and fashion accessories house has been crafting fine luxury items for over 100 years.
Recognizing a need to produce simplistic and elegant writing instruments, Hamburg banker Alfred Nehemias and Berlin engineer August Eberstein created the first simplicissimus pen in 1906. Then, a mere two years later, countryman and business whiz Claus Johannes Voss joined the duo, taking writing to the next level by introducing an ink-in-well version. The rest, you might say is history, inclusive of a roster of elite fragrances complete with its latest scent: Montblanc Legend Spirit EDT.
Deemed a spirited expression of masculinity, this new eau follows in the footsteps of the house’s 2011 and 2013 renditions, Legend and Legend Intense. Aromatic and woody, a first spritz of the juice smells vibrant and refreshing thanks to its blend of bergamot, pink pepper and grapefruit. Cool, herbal notes of lavender and cardamom follow easing into a smooth, warm and musky finish, compliments of blonde woods, cashmere, white musk and oak moss notes.
Like its predecessors, the elixir is captured in a flask-styled bottle, albeit a white one, featuring a metallic upper part of the bottle and cap. On it’s base, three metallic rings symbolize the label emulating those found on all of Montblanc’s famous pens while the distinguished white star emblem can be seen on top of the bottle’s cap and in shiny white embedded into the flacon’s metal.
Montblanc Legend Spirit EDT comes in 50 ml for $69 and 100 ml for $89. It’s available at Hudson’s Bay, Sears, Sephora and Nordstrom stores across Canada.
