Italian couture house Salvatore Ferragamo is taking another fashionable step in the right direction with its latest cologne. And really, this should come as no surprise.
The man behind the eponymous and family-run business started his brand as a shoemaker, studying in Naples before relocating to the United States in 1914. Once stateside, Salvatore became renowned as the footwear designer to the stars and by the ’50s had gained a loyal and wealthy clientele. While the man behind the name has since passed, his empire, complete with an array of stunning, ready-to-wear clothes, footwear, accessories and perfumes, remains. Uomo eau de toilette is the latest addition.
An elegant and seductive blend, Uomo is a combination of sweet and woody notes. On first spritz, the fragrance releases a spicy mix of black pepper, cardamom, and bergamot before easing into a sweet and heady brew of tiramisu, orange blossom, and ambroxan. It’s delectable and gourmand appeal increases with the eau’s finale of creamy cashmere wood, sandalwood, and tonka bean ingredients. All combined, the end result is as intoxicating as it is stylish. Clearly, a fragrance meant to be worn by a man who struts with purpose.
Salvatore Ferragamo Uomo EDT comes in 50 ml for $82 and 100 ml for $105. It’s available at The Hudson’s Bay stores across Canada.
