Late night host Jimmy Kimmel is coming back to host the Oscars next year.
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences made the MC announcement on Tuesday morning.
Kimmel, host of ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live, helmed the annual awards show earlier this year. He finished off the show, after the now infamous Moonlight/La La Land best picture mix-up, by promising to “never come back.”
“If you think we screwed up the ending this year, wait until you see what we have planned for the 90th anniversary show,” Kimmel joked.
Last year marked Kimmel’s first time hosting the Oscars, which was filled with plenty of well-received gags and Matt Damon burns.
The Academy Awards turn 90 next year and will be held on Sunday March 4, 2018, at the Dolby Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center in Hollywood. Viewers at home can catch the show televised live on ABC.
