The Super Bowl is one of the biggest days for sports, gathering millions together to party and enjoy the show. While some watched to see the New England Patriots narrowly beat the Seattle Seahawks, others watched for Katy Perry’s halftime show, but everyone tuned in to watch the best commercials of the year. Super Bowl commercials have taken on a life of their own, costing up to $4 million for 30 seconds of airtime, so you know companies went all out for the big game.
So who won the big ad game this year? Like them or hate them, here are some of 2015’s most talked about Super Bowl commercials.
6. Nationwide’s “Invisible Mindy Kaling” And “Make Safe Happen”
Nationwide had two very different commercials air during the XLIX Super Bowl. One was Mindy Kaling believing she was invisible, but in fact she wasn’t. It is cute and funny in typical Kaling fashion, and all about how Nationwide sees you when no one else does.
Nationwide’s second commercial “Make Safe Happen” took a very different approach, and for better or worse ended up being one of the most talked about commercials of the Super Bowl. If you want people to talk about your commercial, all you have to do is make it about a dead kid.

5. T-Mobile’s “#KimsDataStash”
Everyone loves when celebrities can laugh at themselves. Kim Kardasian’s PSA for T-Mobile does just that, making fun of the fact that all Kim K does is post selfies (mostly showing off her outfits).

4. BMW’s Trip Down Memory Lane
BMW took the perfect approach to highlight their futuristic electric vehicle. The commercial ingeniously illustrates that the BMW i3 is a revolutionary new design by comparing it to Bryant Gumbel and Katie Couric’s confusion to a crazy new thing back in ’94 called the Internet.

3. Chevy’s Broken TV Fake-Out
Chevy had many people temporarily freaking out, thinking their TV station crashed during the big game. The commercial had its intended affect, and for that we believe it was one of the best commercials of the night.

2. Snickers’ The Brady Bunch
Snicker’s most recently “you’re not you when you’re hungry” commercial is perfect. Snickers’ transported Danny Trejo and Steve Buscemi into The Brady Bunch’s living room as angry versions of Marcia and Jan Brady.

1. Budweiser’s “Lost Dog”
After the success of last year’s “Puppy Love” commercial, it is no surprise to see Budweiser continue the #BestBuds commercials with “Lost Dog” at the XLIX Super Bowl. Between the music (I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles) performed by Sleeping At Last) and clydesdales coming to the puppy’s rescue, Budweiser knows how to make even the manliest of men get emotional.

Bonus: GoDaddy’s Unaired #GoDaddyPuppy Ad
While GoDaddy’s ad might have been pulled before making it to the Super Bowl, it is still one of the most talked about commercials of the year. The commercial is a spoof of Budweiser’s “Lost Dog”. At the conclusion of this version the owner is excited when she sees her puppy return home, not because she loves her puppy, but because she has just sold the dog on her new GoDaddy website.
