Fans of the ongoing Planet of the Apes reboot are now just a few weeks away from the latest and hotly anticipated incarnation. Apltly titled, War for the Planet of the Apes, the flick will explore the rise of Earth’s new overlords and chronicle the last battle that wiped out humanity for good. If the previous entries are any indication, we’re sure to be in for an incredible and intense ride.
The film is obviously a big budget blockbuster, and will look to compete with other summer titles at the box office like Spider-Man: Homecoming, Wonder Woman, and The Emoji Movie The film is due out next month, and we know it’s in good hands seeing as how it’s helmed by director Matt Reeves who wrote the 2010 horror, Let Me In.
Despite all of the public knowledge regarding the film, details regarding a central narrative arc remain unclear. Among all of the conflict, there seems to be an integral plotline involving an ape and a human child. Judging from some teaser clips, it seems that this particular story will drive some of the high stakes drama in War for the Planet of the Apes. The specific details surrounding this relationship, however, have been kept a secret throughout production.
Thanks to some recent press rollout, however, we’re beginning to piece together a little bit more of the mystery. Launching today is an extended clip of the new movie, which profiles the aforementioned characters. You can watch it below via YouTube in its entirety.
