The heavily rumoured Full House reboot is officially happening on Netflix. John Stamos shared the news Monday night on Jimmy Kimmel Live. “We’ve been working on this for many, many years,” he explained.
The new 13-episode series – dubbed Fuller House – will premiere on Netflix next year and kick off with a one-hour reunion.
The spinoff series will follow the adventures of the original Full House with DJ Tanner (Candace Cameron-Bure) now pregnant and recently widowed with two boys living in San Francisco. DJ moves back in with her younger sister, Stephanie (Jodie Sweetin), now an aspiring musician, as well as her childhood friend, Kimmy Gibbler (Andrea Barber), who also has a teenage daughter, Ramona.
Netflix confirmed that discussions are ongoing with Full House stars Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Bob Saget, Dave Coulier and Lori Loughlin about guest appearances.
The original Full House ran for eight seasons on ABC between 1987 and 1994.
