This fall Prada will introduce their new Luna Rossa Sport fragrance, inspired by the world of extreme sailing.
Extreme sailing, racing and the pursuit of excellence remain key concepts for the Italian luxury brand and their range of fragrances. The original Luna Rossa scent – first introduced to fragrance counters in 2012 – was inspired by the spirit of the Luna Rossa sailing team, which was founded in 1997 by the man behind the fashion powerhouse brand, Patrizio Bertelli when he decide to challenge for the America’s Cup. Today the renowned sailing team has become one of the most respected challengers in the America’s Cup World Series.
The update of the popular Luna Rossa fragrance was composed by perfumer Daniela Andrier under the creative direction of fashion designer and cultural icon Miuccia Prada. The scent opens with a fresh crispness thanks to top notes of ginger and juniper berries. Lavender, vanilla and tobacco-infected notes of Tonka bean are then swirled into the mix to create an elegant scent that is undeniably masculine.
To capture the sailing spirit of Luna Rossa, the reworked red and silver bottle is inspired by the sleek contours of a man’s sailing boat.
Prada’s Luna Rossa Sport fragrance will come in 50 ml for $72 and 100 ml for $92. It will be available in early September 2015 at Holt Renfrew and Hudson’s bay stores across Canada, as well as select Shoppers Drug Mart, Murale and Sephora locations.
