Cristiano Ronaldo and his Portuguese side may have been eliminated from World Cup contention this summer, but the iconic striker still has plenty to be excited about. If you happen to follow the beautiful game, you’re already well aware that rumours are swirling around CR7’s potential club exit at Real Madrid.
According to multiple sources, including trusted journalists at The Guardian, the veteran is very interested in joining Serie A squad, Juventus. The Guardian’s Ed Aarons and Fabrizio Romano, have even claimed that Ronaldo has already spoken to Juve chairman, Andrea Agnelli, and transfer numbers have been discussed as upwards of €100 million. This would be a pretty gargantuan deal, and surely push Juventus to Champions League-level competition.
But even with this massive transfer in the works, Ronaldo has other reasons to be smiling. Along with his professional playing career, the 33-year-old is reportedly getting his own webseries with social titan Facebook. Variety indicates that the powerful media company is willing to shell out $10 million for Ronaldo to star in his own reality-style show.
Although it’s still in the early stages, the project will be produced by Matador Content and Religion of Sports, and is slated for 13 unique episodes. If everything goes according to plan, this will be the company’s most expensive original show to date. This wouldn’t be Facebook’s only entertainment venture with the Madrid striker. Back in May, both parties confirmed that a scripted drama series from Ronaldo and studio Wiip, was being ordered for Facebook’s Watch outlet.
Judging from early leaks, it seems that the show will be about a high-school girls soccer team in New York that inspires their local communities. Both the scripted show and the docuseries have yet to receive release dates. In the meantime, look out for Cristiano in FIFA 19 dropping later this fall.
