The wedding fashion game has seriously levelled in the past few years. Looks for women and men are more fashion focused than ever with the best aisle styles looking as though they stepped straight off the red carpet.
For brides, the wedding wardrobe is essential which means a curated lineup of looks to switch into throughout the day. Two looks are the current norm—one gown for the wedding ceremony and reception, and another for dancing and after-partying. We can directly attribute this trend to recent celebrity brides like Sofia Richie who wore three dresses for the day, and Paris Hilton who rocked five.
When it comes to men’s wedding style, multi-looks are also most definitely a thing, and celebrity inspo is also driving so many of the chicest groomswear trends we’re currently seeing. At the Oscars, Colman Domingo, Cillian Murphy, Ryan Gosling, John Krasinski and Robert Downey Jr. were just a few of the sharp dressed men whose sartorial style is inspiring groom’s looks this year.

The Classic Tuxedo
This one is always in style and it’s a favourite choice because how often, if ever, are you wearing a tux in your life? What is new when it comes to choosing a wedding tuxedo is colour. Black is timeless, but if you want to really personalize your wedding look go for colour. Burgundy, white, midnight blue and chocolate brown are all statement making tuxedo tones. We also like the idea of playing with silhouette. The ‘70s inspired wedding is huge this year and that is influencing jacket and pant cuts. Slim fit is easing and we’re seeing more flared styles, particularly in trousers.

The Statement Jacket
An easy and stylish way to switch up your wedding day look is to transition your sharp ceremony suit into an elevated, evening look by adding a smoking jacket in luxe fabrication like velvet or jacquard. The Linen Suit
Light weight and comfortable, linen is a perfect choice for a warm weather wedding or a destination ‘I do.’ Suits featuring a wool-linen blend helps prevent excessive wrinkling—the beauty of a linen suit is that is loose and has a somewhat lived-in feel to it. We love to see linen suiting in earth tones like olive, tobacco and burnt sienna. The Double-Breasted Suit
Consider this one an emerging trend that would put you at the top of the wedding style best dressed list. The double-breasted suit jacket rose to prominence in the mid 1930s until the late 1950s; it of course had a huge resurgence in the ‘80s into the early 2000s, and it’s back again. The fit is more tailored than it was decades ago, with streamlined shoulders and a slimmer fit. It looks incredibly fresh again.

The Unconventional Accessories
A bit of bling will take your suiting next level. Brooches worn on lapels are a cool alternative to a boutonniere and can be a sentimental way to work in an heirloom item passed down from your mother or grandmother. For suits, ties with micro-patterns and texture are trending; bow ties are less structured and almost ribbon like. If a country vibe is something you’re embracing for your wedding, the bolo tie is essential (we’re partial to Prada). The sock game continues to be strong and an easy way to bring colour and personality to your look, show them off is you are wearing a cropped pant (or you can choose to go sockless too which brings a different cool vibe). The biggest thing to remember when it comes to accessories for the big day be it ties, pocket squares, cufflinks or shoes is to have a bit of fun with them—these are the elements that will make your look truly yours.

The Pastel Slim Suit
Last year’s Barbie press tour was iconic for its red carpet looks and we’re not just talking about Margot Robbie; Ryan Gosling brought the A level fashion and a whole new appreciation for pastel suits. Haute shades for 2024 include lilac, seafoam, and powder blue.
