The Simpson‘s paid a somber tribute to the late Marcia Wallace in its latest episode with a special farewell message scrawled on a blackboard – by Bart.

In the opening sequence of Sunday night’s episode, Bart writes “We’ll miss you Mrs. K” on the board in reference to Wallace’s character Edna Krabappel.

Wallace died of complications from pneumonia on October 25th at her home in Los Angeles at the age of 70. The actress had been the voice of Bart’s former fourth-grade teacher and sparring partner in 178 episodes of the long-running animated show.
