Early this morning, Australian actor Chris Hemsworth joined the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences president Cheryl Boone Isaacs at a Los Angeles ceremony to reveal the 2014 Oscar nominees.
Gravity and American Hustle scored 10 nominations each, including nods for Best Picture, Best Director (Alfonso Cuaron and David O. Russell, respectively) and Best Actress (Sandra Bullock and Amy Adams, respectively). 12 Years A Slave recieved nine nominations, including Best Picture, Best Director (Steve McQueen), Best Actor (Chiwetel Ejiofor), Best Supporting Actor (Michael Fassbender) and Best Supporting Actress (Lupita Nyong’o). The 86th annual Academy Awards, hosted by Ellen DeGeneres, will take place on Sunday March 2nd at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, California.
