Though the electronic cigarette has been around for several years, 2013 marks the year of their eruption, as well as that of their first legislation. In New York City e-cigarettes have been lumped into already existing cigarette laws with regards to second-hand smoke, though studies have proven e-cigarettes contain no contaminants and are not harmful to bystanders. Their smoke is a vapour.
