Sure, we’re barely a few days into 2019, but it’s never too early to look forward to award season… especially since it’s officially underway. As we continue to reminisce over the year that was, we can now get our first look at who will walk away with some hardware at this weekend’s Golden Globe Awards. Earlier today, the Hollywood Foreign Press revealed an extensive list of nominees for this year’s show and competition is looking pretty damn fierce.
Some of the notable names this time around include Christian Bale for his performance in Vice, Rami Malek for Bohemian Rhpasody, and Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga for their turns in the hit musical drama A Star is Born. Aside from those big names, there were also some welcome under the radar picks like Willem Dafoe in At Eternity’s Gate, Melissa McCarthy in Can You Ever Forgive Me? and Else Fisher in Bo Burnham’s directorial debut Eighth Grade.
Hosting duties for this year’s gala will be handled by funnyman Andy Samberg and Canadian actress Sandra Oh. The Golden Globes will air this Sunday, January 6th at 8PM EST. See the full list of nominations below.
