Hugh Hefner's Playboy Mansion Sold For 100m

The legendary Playboy Mansion in Los Angeles has officially been sold. Hugh Hefner’s 21,987-square-foot Gothic-Tudor style home sold for $100 million to next-door neighbour Daren Metropoulos.

Of course, there is a catch… The buyer has agreed to let former owner and Playboy founder Hefner live there until he dies. Hefner, 90, currently lives in the mansion with his wife Crystal Harris, 30.

Metropoulos lives next door to the property. He said Hefner’s home had a “rich and storied legacy” and is a “masterpiece in design.”

The Playboy Mansion sits on 5.3 acres and was designed by Arthur R. Kelly in 1927. It has 22 rooms including a wine cellar, a screening room, a games room, a tennis and basketball court, a waterfall and a swimming pool area.

Hefner had originally put the estate on the market for $200 million USD – twice the final sale price.
