Mornings can be rough but it’s alright ‘cause your day’s been saved by a Saved by the Bell cast reunion.
Jimmy Fallon has been rocking it right back to the ‘90s as of late, first with his Fresh Prince cover and now he’s brought back everyone’s favourite high schoolers back to Bayside.
The cast looked exactly like you remember them. When Zack Morris (Mark-Paul Gosselaar) walked onto stage the studio audience went wild with praise. Gosselaar was joined by fellow cast-mates Mario Lopez (A.C. Slater), Elizabeth Berkley (Jessie Spano), Tiffani Thiessen (Kelly Kapowski), and Dennis Haskins (Mr. Richard Belding). Dustin Diamond (Screech) and Lark Voorhies (Lisa Turtle) were notable absentees from the reunion.
Fallon played the newest member of the Bayside gang, who is going to miss the school dance because he is moving to New York to be a comedian (and maybe even date Nicole Kidman one day).
At 8 minutes in length, it is one of Fallon’s longer skits but you won’t hear anyone complaining. The reunion features several nostalgia filled moments including Slater’s graceful ballerina skills, Jessie’s “I’m So Excited” pill problem, Zack calling a timeout, and not one but two Zack Morris cellphones.
Saved By The Bell originally aired from 1989-1993, succeeding ‘80s TV show Good Morning, Miss Bliss (1988-1989), and followed by Saved By The Bell: The College Years (1993-1994)and Saved By The Bell: Wedding in Las Vegas (1994).
