Horror fans rejoice! After a year of speculation, we’re finally getting an update on Jordan Peele’s next cinematic endeavour. The rookie director who blew away audiences in 2017 with his psychological horror, Get Out, is in the middle of shooting a brand new flick. Entitled Us, the forthcoming project will have some serious star power with both Lupita Nyong’o (Star Wars: The Force Awakens, 12 Years a Slave) and Elizabeth Moss (Mad Men, The Handmaid’s Tale) attached to play undisclosed parts.
Alongside that particular dynamic duo, the movie will also see funnyman Tim Heidecker (Tim and Eric) and Winston Duke, who starred alongside Nyong’o in one of this past year’s biggest pictures, Marvel’s Black Panther. Peele has also reunited with his Get Out partners Sean McKittrick and Jason Blum who will co-produce the feature.
Not much is currently known about Us but we can confirm that it’ll indeed be another outing in the horror genre for Peele — you may recall that he originally honed his writing chops in the comedy world at Second City and the now cult classic series, Key & Peele with longtime collaborator, Keegan-Michael Key. Despite the relative shroud of secrecy, Universal has released an official poster and synopsis of the movie… and perhaps unsurprisingly, it’s sounding rather creepy. You can read about it below. Us will land in theatres on March 15.
“A mother (Lupita Nyong’o) and a father (Winston Duke) take their children to their beach house expecting to unplug and unwind with friends (Elisabeth Moss and Tim Heidecker). But as night descends, their serenity turns to tension and chaos when some shocking visitors arrive uninvited.”
