Steve McQueen’s legendary western, The Magnificent Seven, is getting a modern-day reimagining.
Director Antoine Fuqua (Training Day, Southpaw) is being handed the reigns of the reboot, and looks to be ramming the new movie with non-stop action. The film had originally begun production in 2012, then with Tom Cruise and Matt Damon as the main stars attached. Those actors backed out due to other opportunities, but the film now boasts an impressive cast including Denzel Washington, Chris Pratt, and Ethan Hawke. Behind the camera is True Detective scribe, Nic Pizzolatto, who gets the screenplay credit.
