Mark your calendars, because summer blockbuster season is already stacking up to be a big one. Besides some heavy hitters like Godzilla: King of Monsters, John Wick: Chapter 3, and Toy Story 4, all eyes will be on the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Of course, theatres will be packed for the conclusion of the epic Avengers saga, but comic book fans will also be lining up to see the latest edition of the extremely popular Spider-Man franchise.
Following the success of 2017’s Spider-Man: Homecoming, it’s safe to assume that we’ll be in for another solid mutant adventure courtesy of Tom Holland and his web-slinging alias, Peter Parker. The actor will once again suit up to play Spidey in what will be his second full-length turn as the iconic hero from New York City. But rather than taking place in his own friendly neighbourhood, Parker will find himself in Europe in the upcoming and aptly titled sequel, Spider-Man: Far From Home.
The brand new adventure sees Parker venture off with his schoolmates for a class trip that goes horribly wrong. While overseas, Spidey will have to fend off a brand new foe — a powerful Mysterio played by none other than Jake Gyllenhaal — and Nick Fury, who is all too eager in having him join the SHIELD squad. Spider-Man: Far From Home hits the big screen on July 5. You can watch the trailer below via YouTube.
