You’re in some serious luck if you happen to live in (or are planning to visit) Vancouver in the near future. Thanks to some social media activism, funnyman Seth Rogen has been revealed as the new voice of the city’s public transit system. This means that no matter where you go in Vancity, you’ll be blessed with the joyful and infectous voice of one of British Columbia’s most hilarious exports.
TransLink CA made the fateful announcement online earlier today and hopes to institute the delightful feature sometime very soon. The big move comes just weeks after the company’s dismissal of Morgan Freeman, who was let go from the project due to sexual misconduct allegations. Following the aforementioned scandal, Twitter users were quick to hit the internet with suggestions of new voiceover candidates. Naturally, hometown hero Rogen was at the top of everyone’s list.
In a video posted to TransLink’s social media accounts, Rogen stated that his decision to partake in the campaign was a no-brainer. “Any opportunity to enrich the lives of the Canadian people is an opportunity I will take,” the actor-writer-director said. “I’m very proud to be from Vancouver, and I grew up taking public transit my whole life and I still use public transit when I’m in the city.”
Although we have yet to hear any confirmed audio tidbits from the experiment, it sounds like Rogen could be cracking jokes throughout the transit line. In a video teaser, Seth comments on people’s sneakers and accessories, all the while reminding them to be courteous of everyone’s space. You can watch the footage below via Twitter.
