Shia LaBeouf has taken to his Twitter account to tell fans that he is retiring from “public life.”
“In light of the recent attacks against my artistic integrity, I am retiring from all public life,” LaBeouf tweeted early Friday morning. “My love goes out to those who have supported me.”
He concluded his message with “#stopcreating,” which alluded to a cease and desist letter he received from famed artist Daniel Clowes’ lawyer.
The attacks the 27-year-old actor speaks of involve claims that he plagiarized his film, Howard Cantou.com, word-for-word from the comic book Justin D. Dimanno by Daniel Clowes. Clowes’ publisher, Fantagraphics, siad late last month that they were pursuing their legal options against LaBeouf, which was followed by nearly a month of bizarre incidents and plagiarized Twitter apologies from LaBeouf.
