It’s not the first time Martin Scorsese has worked with Leonardo DiCaprio. It is, however, the first time Jonah Hill has been in a Scorsese movie, and maybe that’s why the second theatrical trailer for The Wolf of Wall Street, coming to theatres this Christmas, focuses on Hill and his character’s partnership with DiCaprio’s as much as DiCaprio’s alone.
So far we know little about Scorsese’s upcoming film. We do know it is based on the true story of Wall Street mogul and criminal Jordan Belfort, and that the cast, also including Matthew McConaughey and Spike Jonze, is absolutely studded. We also know that Terence Winter, who has collaborated before with Scorsese on Boardwalk Empire, wrote the screenplay. Since crime dramas adapted from books accounting real life American crime seem to be Winter’s strong suit (again, look to Boardwalk), and since Scorsese is involved, we can also surmise the movie is gonna be a damn good time. The poster is the same yellow as the car in the trailer’s opening shots, so…Check out flashy trailer # 2 for The Wolf of Wall Street.
