Watch The New Trailer For Netflix’s ‘A Series Of Unfortunate Events’

Lemony Snicket’s A Series Of Unfortunate Events, is one of the modern era’s most beloved franchises. The otherworldly, enticing, and riveting narrative, is what makes the thirteen novels, some of the most-read pieces in our collections. The strangeness exemplified within the tale, was always a prominent part of the story’s allure, so it shouldn’t come as any surprise that the new teaser for Netflix’s adaption, is equally quirky.

In the delightful minute and a half, TV’s Patrick Warburton breaks the fourth wall, and declares himself to be Lemony Snicket. Throughout the trailer, Snicket pleads with the audience to avoid watching the show’s January premiere. It’s a fun and subtle nod to the wild stories that will be adapted by the streaming company.

The franchise was famously adapted in the mid 2000s, to lukewarm reviews. That version, however, famously possessed Jim Carrey’s excellent turn as the vile, Count Olaf. Filling his shoes, will be Tony Award-winner, Neil Patrick Harris – who also gets an audio tease in the new footage. You can watch the trailer below, via YouTube. Look out for the Netflix original when it premieres this January.
