The forthcoming Venom standalone film has had a bit of a bumpy ride these past few months. After a handful of small leaks and teases on social media, Sony Pitctures dropped a full length trailer to properly showcase the project. Sadly, the Tom Hardy vehicle was met with cautious optimism and its footage garnered lukewarm reception.
Thankfully for those involved, that attitude has completely evaporated overnight, and it seems like fans of Venom are in for a real treat this fall. Earlier today, the movie was given its second official teaser, and it was packed with ample amounts of action and CGI goodness. While the previous bit showed Eddie Brock (Hardy) encountering the Venom substance, this offering shows him grappling with the dark aftermath.
For those that have been following along, there were rumours at the top of the year that claimed Tom Hardy would not don the iconic Venom suit in this upcoming flick. In an Instagram post this March, however, Eddie Brock himself shut down the whispers. “Just saying (about the) Venom suit: myths usually asinine circulate about things usually by those who have failed to garner credible intel”.
Despite this impassioned post, the lack of evidence in the film’s first trailer didn’t put out the fire. But, if you click play on the second clip below, you’ll be able to rest easy… the suit is very much on full display in Venom.
