Thriller and mystery fans are in for a real treat next month. It may debut at the top of the year, but Glass is already one of 2019’s most anticipated new movies. The M. Night Shyamalan adventure has been making some serious noise due to its complex, narrative nature… the acclaimed director of The Sixth Sense sure has a ton of work to do in order to tie it all together.
If you’ve been following the story, you may recall that Glass is a sequel to both 2000’s Unbreakable and 2016’s Split. The two Shyamalan franchises will culminate in this upcoming tale which showcases the brutal battle between heroes and villains from the aforementioned movies.
As for the particular characters in question, Glass will focus on Unbreakable‘s David Dunn (Bruce Willis) who uses his supernatural ability to hunt down Split‘s Kevin Wendell Crumb (James McAvoy), the disturbed villain with twenty-four personalities. Also featured in the movie is iconic actor, Samuel L. Jackson, who will reprise his role as Mr. Glass, the main antagonist from Unbreakable.
The final trailer, which you can check out below, hints at characters being trapped in a mental institution near the start of the story. Naturally, things quickly go awry and all three leads will have to deal with their explosive coexistence. You can watch it all unfold below via Comicbook.com’s YouTube channel. Glass will hit theatres on January 18, 2019.
