We’ve known of Quentin Tarantino’s epic western, The Hateful Eight, since the script leaked early last year. We were made even more aware of it, when news of the leak threatened to have the film canned all together. Thankfully, the director changed his mind and we now have a glorious two and a half minute trailer to drool over. The Hateful Eight is fittingly; Tarantino’s eighth film to date, and is his second western. The last time Tarantino visited the west, he pleased fans and critics alike with Django Unchained. This time around, the narrative seems to be larger and more complex. Tarantino stalwarts Sam Jackson, Michael Madsen and Tim Roth are all set to appear, with legends Bruce Dern and Kurt Russell also lending their talents.
The Hateful Eight is set to release on Christmas Day in select theatres, with a worldwide release in January of next year. The film will be in a tough spot as it’ll be competing at the box office with both Spectre and Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Regardless, if Tarantino’s track record is any indication, it’s sure to be an event, and it’ll probably kick ass. Watch the trailer below and try not to throw money at the screen.
