William Shakespeare’s Star Wars Hits Shelves

What if William Shakespeare wrote Star Wars? That’s pretty much the premise behind first time author Ian Doescher’s new book, William Shakespeare’s Star Wars. Doescher’s unique hybrid hit online and shelves earlier this week, reimagining George Lucas’s 1977 space opera with Shakespeare’s splendid iambic pentameter and other Shakespearean prose.

And, if that isn’t enough for you, the book features woodcut-style illustrations by Nicolas Delort.

William Shakespeare’s Star Wars: Verily, A New Hope is published by Quirk Books, which is known for its past fun remixes of classics works including: Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies and Android Karenina.
