So, consider this your at-home classic martini school lessons. Here’s how to make four classic martinis: a dry vodka martini, a dirty vodka martini, a espresso martini, and a French martini.
Classic Dry Vodka Martini
Ingredients:
- 1.50 oz Grey Goose l’Original Vodka
- 0.25 oz dry vermouth
- 1 dash orange bitters
- Garnish: lemon peel
Method:
- Start by adding ice to the martini glass to chill while mixing the cocktail – you want an ice cold martini glass for your ice cold martini.
- Into a Mixing glass add all your liquids. Then add ice cubes 1 inch over the liquid. Stir gently (10 – 15 sec) adding more ice cubes when the liquid gets below ice level. This is a stirred not shaken martini.
- Discard the ice from your chilled martini glass.
- Strain and pour the cocktail mixture into your chilled martini glass and garnish with twist of a lemon peel.
Classic Dirty Vodka Martini
Ingredients:
- 2.5 oz Grey Goose l’Original Vodka
- 0.5oz dry vermouth
- 0.5oz olive brine
- Garnish: olives
Method:
- Start by adding ice to the martini glass to chill while mixing the cocktail.
- Pit two olives and muddle with the olive brine in the base of a mixing glass.
- Add vodka and vermouth, top with cubed ice and stir.
- Discard the ice from your chilled martini glass.
- Double strain into a chilled cocktail glass and garnish with three olives on a pick. Want to make it extra dirty? Try some blue cheese stuffed olives.
Espresso Martini
Ingredients:
- 0.75 oz Grey Goose l’Original
- 0.25 oz Coffee liqueur
- 1.00 oz Single origin espresso
- 1 small pinch of fleur de sel
- Garnish with 3 Coffee beans
Method:
- Add ice to the martini glass to chill while mixing the cocktail.
- Into a shaker tin add all your liquids. Add ice cubes to cover the liquid in the shaker.
- Shake vigorously (5 – 7 sec) to make the cocktail homogenous.
- Discard the ice in the chilled martini glass.
- Finely strain the cocktail into the chilled martini glass.
- Garnish with 3 coffee beans.
French Martini
Ingredients:
- 0.75 oz Grey Goose l’Original
- 1.00 oz Fresh pineapple juice
- 0.15 ml Premium raspberry liqueur
- Garnish with 1 fresh Raspberry
Method:
- Add ice to the martini glass to chill while mixing the cocktail.
- Into a shaker tin add all your liquids. Add ice cubes to cover the shaker.
- Shake vigorously (5 – 7 sec) to make the cocktail homogenous.
- Discard the ice in the chilled martini glass.
- Strain the cocktail into the chilled martini glass.
- Garnish with the fresh raspberry.
