Buckle up, it’s about to be another wild ride. After three years of uncertainty, it looks like the world of boxing is about to get another massive ticket— and before you ask, no it’s not another MMA star looking to branch out. Earlier this weekend, Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao broke the internet by announcing that they’ll once again step into the ring together.
Since it’s 2018, the news came through clips posted to social media, with Money himself taking to Instagram and confirming the rumours. “I’m coming back to fight Manny Pacquiao this year,” reads his caption on a grainy video taken from Japan. “Another 9 figure pay day on the way. We gonna take the belt. We gonna get the payday.”
Of course, as we all just found out, there are still not too many details surrounding the forthcoming fight. What we do know, however, is that according to sources at ESPN, we can expect a rematch sometime in December. If you recall, Mayweather was the victor the last time the two boxed: Floyd won that with a 12-round unanimous decision over Pac-Man.
