Lock’em Or Leave’em: Our Predictions For NFL Week 14

‘Tis the season to make money, and December is ripe for some easy winners! In Week 14, we smell a few upsets, but we’re positive our NFL analyst and sports bettor, Jeff Bjarnarson, can steer around them and keep you in the money! Here are three teams to break the bank on, and three games to leave behind the woodshed for NFL’s Week 14!

Lock’em

It’s gotta be a bad idea to recycle a couple Lock’s from last week, but let’s hit it! The Browns (4-8) travel to Foxborough, where Belichick just doesn’t give up the W. The Pats (9-3) are starting to look like the old Pats again and when playing in December are 9-1. Meanwhile, Cleveland in December is 2-8. Lock down Brady to go old-school on the shoddy Browns.

Part two in this Winter recycling is to throw money on the Bronco’s at home, where Manning is 5-0. The 5-7 Titans will be no match for Denver (10-2) and haven’t hit more than 30 pts in a game, since the early weeks of the season! Manning will take the W this game – Lock it down!

The 6-6 Ravens love winning at home, and expect much of the same when the Vikings (3-8-1) come to pillage Baltimore this weekend. Baltimore is 22-3 in their last 25 games at home, and I don’t see this weekend being much different with Flacco and Jones looking like defending Superbowl Champions again. Take the birds and the W at home!

Leave’em

I know what you’re thinking – Falcons flying high in Wisconsin in December? Not bloody likely! Unfortunately, since losing Rodgers, the Pack has been abysmal, not winning a single game (although they tied one). Don’t get me wrong, the Falcons are brutal too, but showed a hint of life last weekend in Toronto. There’s really no way to tell which team will show up, so stay away from this one.

If we stepped into a time machine, and went back to a Houston / Jacksonville game a year ago, I’d tell you to take Houston and bet the house on it. Go ahead and throw in your children’s college savings. This year, this is not the case. Texans (2-10) travel to Jaguar-ville (3-9) as 3 pt favourites in another battle to see who can hit the bottom of the league. Jacksonville won their last bout in Week 12, but no one showed any dominance in that low scoring game. Ugh… too painful to watch. Change the channel and leave this one alone!

Hate to do it, but it’s gotta be done – don’t touch the Panthers (9-3) / Saints (9-3) game on Sunday night. Carolina is 5-0 in its last 5 games. New Orleans is 5-0 in its last 5 games at home. These kitties are here to stay, and after Monday night’s blowout in Seattle, I’m not sure if Brees is ready to bounce back. It’s hard for visitors to grab a win in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome, but I still urge you to take a pass on this divisional battle.

Got a lock? Leave it in the comments below. Totally against our predictions? We’d love to hear from you! May you be among winners this weekend!
