Neil Patrick Harris may have done a questionable job hosting the 2015 Oscar festivities (who doesn’t though?), but thanks to his stylist, New York-based Sam Spector, he looked pretty damn fantastic throughout the marathon evening. NPH was definitely the best dressed gent at this year’s Oscars and set the bar pretty high for any future emcee, changing things up six times throughout the evening. A true record for a male host.
Here’s a look at each of Neil Patrick Harris’ killer looks from the 87th annual Academy Awards:
The Red Carpet: Neil Patrick Harris (with husband David Burtka in a Calvin Klein Collection tuxedo) opted to kick off the fashionable evening wearing a bespoke light grey Brunello Cucinelli tuxedo. The first-time Oscar host paired the fitted cashmere tux with a white Hamilton dress shirt, a grey Brunello Cucinelli bow tie, Ox & Bull cuff links, and a pair of Bally shoes.

Second Look: Neil Patrick Harris kicked off the Oscar broadcast on a strong note with a with a tongue-in-cheek Broadway-style number that dazzled the audience. What was he wearing? He wore a dapper black shawl collar tuxedo from British luxury brand Dunhill.
—
Third Look: Sure, some of his jokes fell flat, but NPH’s nod to Birdman – when he walked on stage dressed only in a pair of white underpants – was a total hit. Bold move stripping down in front of millions of viewers.
—
Fourth Look: When a fully dressed Neil Patrick Harris returned to the Oscar stage we was wearing a slick burgundy tuxedo by Italian luxury brand Valentino.
—
Fifth Look: Next? A black double-breasted tuxedo, shirt, and black bow-tie… Neil Patrick Harris’ fifth Oscar look was Stefano Pilati’s first custom tuxedo for Zegna Couture.
—
Sixth Look: Neil Patrick Harris finished off a night of Oscar hosting wearing a Tom Ford. Props on the white flower lapel pin on the navy velvet tuxedo jacket.
