With it’s curved bottle, black topper and smoked grey glass, Bottega Veneta Pour Homme Extreme could easily pass as a mirror reflection of its two-year-old predecessor of the same name. That is, minus the word: Extreme, a fresh label and, of course, a deeper, sexier, stronger scent.
Consider this liquid incarnation to be the more intense, sensual and vibrant version of an oh-so relevant eau. Crafted by the same perfumers—Daniela Roche Andrier and Antoine Maisondieu—Pour Homme Extreme perpetuates the original’s, distinctive, woody and aromatic essence. Fresh bergamot and sharp juniper are linked to spicy fir tree and pimento peppers before being centered by sensual leather. The main difference is the intensity of the scent, and both the woody, leather notes are responsible.
But let’s not forget Zak Steiner. The cologne’s chiseled model is back for another round with the Italian brand, captured once more by filmmaker Axel Lindahl. This time, Steiner’s seductive pout and handsome, yet rugged features are shot portrait style, leaving you with a close-up of the man to create the mirror-perfect image of the fragrance’s raw, sophisticated sensuality.
Bottega Veneta Pour Homme Extreme EDTfragrance comes in 50 ml for $90 and 90 ml for $120. It’s available at Holt Renfrew and the Hudson’s Bay stores across Canada.
