In 2013 we met Bottega Veneta Pour Homme. Warm and spicy, the eau was infused with leather notes—an ode to the Italian luxury house’s signature beginnings. It was the first men’s fragrance.
Two years later, the 50+-year-old brand introduced Extreme, a richer, headier version of its predecessor and loaded with carnal undertones. Then in 2016, along came Essence Aromatique, a refreshingly casual blend infused with tart citrus and bergamot notes.
Now, it’s time for Parfum.
A bolder and definitive interpretation of the original eau, Parfum is a combination of crisp cool mountain air with aged leather, rich cedar, spicy cardamom and pimento, sticky resin and sensual tonka bean. Comfortingly familiar courtesy of the aromatic woody core found in all of the Pour Homme eaus, this incarnation is sophisticated and intense, a distinct evolution of the signature scent.
The elixir is captured in the same refined flacon as Essence Aromatique, albeit in opaque black Murano glass and finished with gold lettering. The label’s masculine mark: a single screw is also present, showcased on the exterior of the bottle along the neck and is mirrored in the box packaging.
Bottega Veneta comes in 90 ml for $152. It’s available exclusively at Holt Renfrew, Saks Fifth Avenue and Hudson’s Bay stores across Canada.
