Air Jordan 1 “Royal” Set for Launch This April

Take a peek at online sneaker auctions and you just might notice something: the Air Jordan 1 is currently in the midst of a massive resurgence. The popular hi-top basketball shoe has become one of the most coveted products in streetwear, and with the continued restock of fresh new colourways, the trend doesn’t appear to be slowing down anytime soon. If you happen to follow trendsetters and hypebeasts on social media, you’ve likely seen plenty of Breds littered throughout your timeline, and as 2017 rolls along, the shoes are becoming harder and harder to miss.

It’s easy to see why the 1s have become so hot lately, with a slew of celebrity fans including the Migos, DJ Khaled, and low key style icon, John Mayer, all rocking the throwback creps. The demand for Air Jordans continues to be at an all-time high in 2017, and while the OG Breds have become extremely difficult to cop at retail price, sneakerheads everywhere are getting another shot at snagging the piece at select retailers.

Last September, Nike announced the highly anticipated restock of the Air Jordan 1 “Royal”. It’s a welcome addition to the brand, and comes after a lengthy four-year hiatus. Originally launched all the way back in 1984, the “Royal” boasts a chunky silhouette with rich blue tones and stark black hues. The sneaker stays true to the original 80s aesthetic, and will definitely be another staple on the pavement this summer. As for when you can get your hands on the kicks themselves? Well, stay with us and mark your calendars accordingly.

Multiple sources are indicating that the shoes are slated for a release on April 1st. Despite the unfortunate date, it doesn’t appear to be some bad April Fools joke. While the date seems to be set, there have yet to be any details regarding drop locations. In the meantime, you can stare at the lead photo we’ve stuck up there at the top of the page.
