If you’re looking for a new timepiece, you may be in some serious luck. According to industry insiders, streetwear giant Supreme is currently in talks with Rolex for a special collaborative piece. The rumoured and hype-worthy watch is said to be on track for a release sometime next year, and the drop will also coincide with a limited line of apparel. Of course, the capsule has yet to be officially confirmed by either brand, but the potential alone has hypebeasts everywhere throwing money at their screens.
Supreme has yet to work with Rolex in an official capacity at any point in their 23-year history, however, the American streetwear company was commissioned to customize a Submariner in 2013 for Bamford Watch Department. These pieces were initially sold between $10,000 and $11,000 USD and later ended up online for up to five times the retail price. Perhaps the most notable feature on the custom Submariner was the explicit engraving on the watch itself that reads “F*** Em”.
In addition to the Bamford experience, Supreme has had a bevy of other successful relationships with numerous luxury brands. Earlier this year, Supreme linked up with French fashion house Louis Vuitton for a bunch of casual pieces, bags, and some slick patterned denim. The latter design became a huge hit with influencers like Drake, Justin Bieber, and even pop legend Madonna.
As for the upcoming Rolex joint, we can only begin to theorize what the two have in store. Popular social media user and Supreme plug, DropsByJay, took to his Instagram account two days ago and teased the collab. “Excited for this release as last time it wasn’t for the public,” he wrote.
