TOMS is helping to improve the world once again, this time with its first collection of bags for men. This is the fourth One for One® product that the popular shoe company has launched.
With every bag purchased, TOMS will help provide safe births for mothers and babies in Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Haiti, and India. TOMS is working with a network of partners involved in maternal and child health programs, who will help provide training for skilled birth attendants, along with a safe birth kit including essential items like soap, gloves, gauze, a cord clamp, surgical blade and a clean environment to help women safely give birth.
In 2006 Blake Mycoskie launched TOMS’ One for One® shoe collection, after meeting a group of Argentinian children who had no shoes. The concept was simple, for every pair of shoes sold, the company would supply a child in need with footwear. TOMS expanded the idea in 2011 adding eyewear to their brand, giving sight back to those in need. Then in 2014 TOMS Roasting Co. started bringing clean water to developing communities with every purchase of their coffee. And now TOMS has bags for maternal health.
“After years in the field, I recognized a need for advancements in maternal health,” said Mycoskie. “The issue of maternal health is very close to my heart, as I just became a father this past December. I truly believe people around the world will be amazed at what these bags can do.”
TOMS is partnering with United Nations Population Fund, BRAC and ayzh, with Every Mother Counts working as its maternal health advocacy partner.
The new mens TOMS bag collection features three distinct bag lines for men including: Artisan, Travel-inspired, and Campus and Tech, in canvas, leather and prints. The bags will be available online at TOMS.ca and select retailers nationwide, with prices ranging from $30-$328 CDN.
