Last year, Swedish athletic company, Tretorn, announced a partnership with music and pop culture icon, Andre 3000. According to a news release, the Outkast emcee would join the brand as creative director and drop an exclusive line of new gear. Aside from a few teases on social media, there wasn’t a whole lot of material to gauge what this joint venture would exactly produce, but after months of secrecy, we’re finally getting our first look at the collaboration.
Earlier today, the two forces unveiled a retro-inspired sneaker that fuses bright pastel colours with modern aesthetics to deliver something totally fresh and unique. Dubbed the Bostad, the high top sneaker embraces this year’s “dad shoe” trend by incorporating vintage chunkiness much like Balenciaga’s incredibly popular Triple S silhouette. Unlike other luxury streetwear shoes, however, the Bostad kick looks like it belongs on a basketball court.
Andre 3000’s Tretorn’s capsule collection consists of nine other items—there are also some cool, updated Nylite pieces—but the Bostad is easily the series highlight. Made with luxe Nappa leather, suede, and nubuck, the crep is promising to be both a comfortable and durable product.
The Bostad retails for roughly $310 CAD, comes in two distinct colourways, and is available on Tretorn’s official webstore here. In related news, check out a special Nike joint from fellow Grammy award-winning artist, Kendrick Lamar.
