Until Monday, more than a decade had passed since Pittsburgh Steelers strong safety and Head & Shoulders’ mane man Troy Polamalu had cut his hair. That streak ended when Polamalu gave up a single lock of his legendary hair Monday afternoon to raise money and promote veterans issues south of the border.
Polamalu let a single, 3-inch lock of his hair be cut at the VFW Mane Event in front of a crowd at Pittsburgh’s Heinz Field.
Polamalu and his wife, Theodora, founded the Harry Panos Fund for Veterans to support charities that focus on the military. It’s named for Theodora’s grandfather, a World War II veteran.
